A Carolina-style vinegar based BBQ sauce for pulled pork (pork butt). What makes my pork butt so good? It’s definitely the BUTT STUFF™. I use this like a dressing as soon as the pork is pulled and also put it on the table with the other sauces.

Ingredients

  • 2 CUPS – Cider Vinegar

  • 2 TBSP – Dark Brown Sugar

  • 1 TBSP – Heinz Ketchup

  • 1 TBSP – Frank’s Red Hot

  • 1 TSP – Red Pepper Flakes

  • 1 TSP – Ground Black Pepper

  • 1 TSP – Kosher Salt

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a non-reactive sauce pan and bring to a boil.  Stir frequently with a whisk until the sugar and salt is completely dissolved.  Continue to boil for 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and cover.
  • Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature.

Notes & Prep

  • If possible, allow the sauce to rest in the refrigerator for 24 hours before use.
